Is Paris open for Christmas?
17 years ago, June 25th 2006 No: 1 Msg: #6338
So, I will be living in Nantes, France this year, and my family is going to visit me for a week starting on Christmas. Is it worth it to Stay in Paris? Is it open for tourism? Are there cultural events? Or is it better to just go back to my apartment in Nantes and be a family - like all of France usually would be in the countryside, and then go back to Paris fo the last two/three days? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am familiar with Paris, but just the idea of Paris at Christmas time and what is open, etc. Thanks! Reply to this

Hmm, not sure about Xmas, but I have been to Paris for New Years (including the last few days of December) for a few years running. At that time, most things are still open and it is easy to get into the museums, etc.I have also been able to go to the cinema/theatre very easily. There is also a great ice-rink outside the town hall, which can give many hours of fun! I am not sure about Christmas day itself though, and for that it might be an idea to be in Nantes for the day, travelling to Paris a day later. Reply to this
