Looking for help planning a honeymoon on the Eastern side of Spain!

My fiance and I are looking to honeymoon in Spain and are looking for help planning the trip. We are trying to be there for around 12 days and want to spend multiple days at a nice romantic beach location, multiple days in Barcelona, and then perhaps several other days traveling around. We are young and don't mind camping or hostels if we can get a room to ourselves, and we are on a budget but also have enough to plan a good trip. Please help! Reply to this

If you have a car, then head into the Pyrenees, there is some beautiful scenery up that part of the world. You only have to travel a couple of hours by car from Barcelona and you are already in the foothills.

San Sebastian is a great Honeymoon beach town with what I think is the best food in Spain. You could do something like Barcelona – San Sebastian - Rioja - Leon – Santiago - Porto. Would be best to fly into Barcelona and out of Porto. Reply to this

Alicante is a great place too. It is located on the east side of Spain where you can find beautiful beaches. Honeymoon can't be perfect if beaches are not present. 3 of the best beaches are located here, they are San Juan Beach, Explanada d’Espanya and Saladares. Don't forget to rent a car because Alicante has many great places that you can explore and enjoy. Reply to this

What about Costa Brava? It sounds perfect for you guys since it is extremely romantic, located by the beach, close to Barcelona (both are Catalonia) and full of campings. I highly recommend it 😊 lastminutetravel.com

I realize this is probably way too late, but if you are looking for a great beach location I would suggest the island of Majorca. It is a great location with a lot of charm and interesting people, where you can also find some of the best beaches in Spain. There is a great line of hotels there that range from the resort type to more personal bed and breakfast style lodgings..you can check out the website: charming hotels in mallorca

I agree with seanmiller San Sebastian is the Basque country of Northern Spain is the true treasure of Basque resorts, setting itself apart from the mainstream beach resorts. A summer capital of Spain, it is here where the Belle Epoque ( beautiful era ) lives on.

San Sebastian is not a sunny village, but you could practice surf near there...Alicante is not nice (maybe it is from the point of view of a foreigner). Barcelona is full of foreigners...Romantic is Lisboa Reply to this
