Your only option Chris is to fly - there is no train travel between Kenya and Egypt, and taking the bus will result in many, many days of travel on some rough roads. In fact the only way to make the final leg of the journey (to Aswan) is by ferry - and to do that, you need to enter Sudan.

Try Ethiopian Airlines, they are a very good and safe airline. If they have a good connection, you will not have to stay overnight in Addis Ababa. For a direct flight, you could take Kenya Airways - but it will be more expensive.

i agree with shane, not only will this save you time but your safety is also important as a lot of these places are not very safe. fly and save your self the hassel. trust me i lived in africa for over 15 years.it is beautiful but you must use your common sense as there is not much law enforcement and the little that does exist is corrupt. always carry some cash on you as police are known to arrest you for no reason and plant drugs or something to try and get a bribe from you. ask them for an on the spot fine, they will usually ask for a rediculouse amount then talk them down, pay them and get the hell out of there.
