Can I move to Sweden?

Hi. I have some questions about possibly moving to Sweden

I have a relative that lives in Sweden. I am planning on coming over for a long vacation..
The airlines say I can only stay for 90 days? Well. I would like to stay longer.
What do I have to do to stay in Sweden longer than 90 days??
I've been reading articles and i keep getting different answers.. Some people are saying I would need to get a Visa.. Others say i have to apply for a residence permit..
Please advise.
