Nominate bloggers who have never had a blog on the Front Page and have fewer than 5 recommends.
Some nice entries coming from The Bus Diaries
Borrowing from Ernesto Guevara and Alberto Granado's travels in "The Motorcycle Diaries", they're making their way round South America on, you guessed it, buses.

Having just read through M and M
's blogs, and enjoyed following their lives as humanitarian relief workers across the world, I am seconding thier nomination as Blogger of the Week. I am also Subscribing and Recommending

OK, I can third the nomination of dsd_uk
. Rather than seeing Asia in on go, he has taken numerous trips several months in length, including doing a six month stint of rice farming in Japan. Perhaps this is the origin of his earthy language describing his experiences. He's just back from Mongolia, and I look forward to his next adventure.

It's a cold, cold day in the Colorado Rocky Mountains so I have nothing better to do than read some of the blogs recently nominated as Blogger of the Week...somebody has got to do this! Thus the string of seconds and thirds above.
So I will second Mel's nomination of Round the world on a Shoosmith
who are on an RTW trip, having finiished Asia and Australia (they promise to blog about in the NEAR future), and are now starting South America.
Anyway, Linda is bugging me to go outside to pick up the mail.
I was going to nomiate Forget 9 to 5
as Blogger of the Week but it turns out that she is already on the Front Page and also has more than 5 Recommendations. I can always check the number of Recommends, but unless someone has been on the Front Page recently,I don't know how I can find out that this is the case. It's not like they have an award posted on their blog site. Others have also made this mistake. Would it be possible to add a Front Page award, or something to indicate this so we can avoid making these nominations by mistake?
I would like to nominate Ben and Asimina
for blogger of the week. They are currently on a wonderful honeymoon.
I'll glad follow in Bob's footsteps and gladly give a fourth nomination to dsd_uk

The Travelblog System hasn't generated the new Blogger of the Week...last one was announced two weeks ago. I believe that dsd_uk
has enough nominations, but there may be others in line, too. Just keeping Mell and Jo on their toes!

Blogger of the Week (Mel) and Photo of the Week(myself) are processed manually, rather than generated by the system. I'm sure dsd_uk is in line for a BoW award with that many nominations :-)
While looking at the new blogger list which posts random existing bloggers also (where better to run across undiscovered talent), I serendipitously ran across an amazing blogger writing about her time in China from the perspective of their food. As she says, Chinese food is different from what you get from the take out in the Western world, and sets out to prove it. I nominate Chopsticks
for her unique contribution to Travelblog.
I nominate Kate Cameron's Kashgar Markets for blog of the week.
I note Shane beat me to it....so mine is a second to his nomination.

I note that Kate took this trip in 2010 and is starting to catch up with the blogs of her trip. I went back to read all her blogs, and look forward to reading about her overland journey along the Silk Road and all the way to Malaysia. Pretty brave for a 22 year old...at the time. I can third the nomination for Katemcameron
Mel must be busy as she hasn't selected a Blogger of the Week for some time even though we keep nominating some good people!
I nominate NateTheGreat
to be Blogger of the Week. In 2009 he traveled around South America and in 2012 has just hit the road again starting in Southeast Asia. While many bloggers take this route, his writing and photography are superb, thus distinguishing him from most of the rest.
I'd like to get on the Katemcameron
band wagon. I've read a couple of her blogs and have been very impressed with the quality of prose and photos. Good find Shane! I'd like to 4th the nomination.
