Sorry guys, I am late to update you.
A few days after I shared the above post, Accord Advantage regional GM (Mr. Kenn Sheather) contacted me.
Shortly, he offered to extend my membership for another 6 months gratis.
He appointed one of his staff to help me booking a resort hotel in Huahin (Thailand) using our free stay facility.
Everything run smoothly.

I really appreciate Mr. Kenn Sheather and Khun Mod (Ms. Riawfang U-THONG) for their helping hands.
However, I was wondering what would happen if Mr. Kenn Sheather and Khun Mod were not working for Accor Advantage Plus.

Cheers,

Then why you did not post that matter after you have received Mr Sheater's reply?? why did you have to wait for approx 2 years only to clarified this matter. ? Even though if they are not working with Accor Advantage Plus, i believe they will still some people to help you to solve your situations. As this is my 5 year membership if they is any problem, all i need to do is just call their sales office and talk to them they will give you a solutions as soon as it can be. The only thing i need to do is just drop them a email. Reply to this

@telur1 aka Nicholas,
It's better you read my first post then you can comment.

"The only thing i need to do is just drop them a email."
If that thing really happened to you, then it is your good experience; Mine is different.

Concerning the delay between my good experience with Mr. Sheater and my post above, don't you see "Sorry guys" written above?

Furthermore, in 12 March 2011, you said that you are Accor member for 3 years going on 4 years, now (August 2011) you say that you are Accor member for 5 years.
For me, from March 2011 to August 2011, there are only 5 months, but for your time frame, it is 2 years; Perhaps you have unique way of counting year of membership? Reply to this

This is a very old forum indeed. The last post was more than 5 years ago. But what i wanted to say is that even after 5 years I don't think they have "changed" their corporate culture much. I had a very bad experience with their sales consultant recently. I myself was an accor advantage plus member for around 5 years and I've decided against renewing my membership this year due to a few valid reasons, at least to me. And I believe as a consumer we have a choice on how and who we want to spend our money on! First of all, the restaurants in the hotels that I usually dine in and used the card had a change in ownership and no longer managed under Accor brand hence I cannot use the card anymore. Secondly I travel less to the places so it doesn't make much sense to me to "pay" this membership fee for the 2 nights "free stay" which I don't foresee myself using anytime soon. So I made it very clear to the sales consultant that I won't be renewing this year and boy what a nightmare! Besides being constantly bombarded by phone calls for months and last but not least was even "threatened" at the very end. It started with non-stop talk and reasons on why I should renew to "begging" me to renew in order for her to reach her month's target quota to finally threatening me and trying to guilt me into giving in by saying she already "renewed" for me and that she'll have to cancel out of her own pocket and question my conscience in making her do so!! Incredible! Accor, you've certainly lost a customer in me. I was just planning on not renewing for this year but could do so again once my travel plans are in placed in the future. With this experience, I don't think I would ever want to part with my hard earned money to companies who has ZERO basic PR sales training! Reply to this
