Somebody to go back in time with me. This is NOT a joke. Call Brian at 603-305-8109. You will be paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.

Where would you go and at what time? Reply to this

I might have called that guy 10 years ago. But as I have become older(and wiser maybe) I have developed more of an appreciation for my health and safety. I would never go anyplace which is not reasonably safe. I go to adventurous destinations, but only if the risks to my life and safety are low. I wouldnt go to Iraq or Afghanistan or maybe even Pakistan at the moment.

Yes, but don't you ever muse about time travel in theory? Reply to this

I do actually. 😊 It is one reason why I go to countries which are more remote or less developed than Germany(where I live). It gives me the feeling that I am going back in time. There are cars and TVs in most countries but sometimes the societies are decades behind ours or the nature is less touched etc.

I have that all around me. Our mountains are not as developed as yours are. Most have no roads on them and no inns at the top. Actually few have inns at the top. But I would like to go back and talk to certain people. Reply to this

Who would you talk to Dymphna?

I saw this discussion yesterday and although I absolutely love the idea of time travel, I can't pinpoint exactly when I would like to go...here are some of the ideas rolling around my head:

The 1920s "The Roaring Twenties"!; July 20th 1969, to watch the moon landing on the television; go and hang out with my parents when they were teenagers in the 1960s-70s, certainly making more of the musical moments than they did :-P; LiveAid 1985 the year I was born!; Ancient Rome; Take the Grand Tour in the early 1800s; witness the tremendous spirit of the British during the Second World War effort - particularly the Land Girls; .....

I think I would spend most of my time-travelling in the 1900s.

Very interesting discussion though, where would others like to go?

My brother votes for Ancient Rome, particularly under Caesar. Reply to this

You just made me feel really old LOL I remember the moon landing.

Rome would be interesting. Middle Ages would be very interesting to me. The ideas we have are very different from how they lived at that time and I would like to experience some of that. Talking to people like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Anthony of Padua or St. Thomas Aquinas would be very interesting. Then to go talk to my Lord when He was here on Earth. Reply to this

I would like be a hippy in the 1960s travelling overland to Asia and hanging out on the beaches of Goa and Koh Samui.

I would also like to go forward a few hundred years, out of curiousity about the future, but it does seem like a scary thought. At least if I go back to the 1960s, I will have some clue what to expect. Reply to this

I would rather love to go back to the future! Imagine a colony in the moon or at least a chance to go to the moon on a spacecraft! Sometime in the future there could be 1000s of tourist flights to circle the earth on a spacecraft just like Yuri Gagarin did. There would be much cheaper trips to polar regions in the future. If traveblog.org is still alive then, we could be having bloggers attaching photos of planet earth taken from the Space! How about that? Reply to this

I love that idea Hem! Kind of like the Doctor in the Tardis...in one episode he and his travel companion watch the Earth die from outer space, very cool concept.

And sorry Dymphna for making you feel old!
