My boyfriend and I will be traveling around Italy (specifically Naples, Rome, and Venice) for 12 days, then 4 days in Vienna, and the 4 days in Munich. Any advise on what euro pass to buy and what are the best ways to get out and explore. We both want to do day trips and are excited for vacation, we will be there in September. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated, it's both of our first trip to Italy!

Hello Ashley 😊

Buying individual train tickets may actually be more economical than buying a pass. You could search the German and Italian rail websites for bargains. For example, with a special offer train ticket you can get all the way from Munich to Rome for 39 Euros including all taxes. But, this is only if you score bargain tickets and it is on the night trains. You can buy the tickets up to around 85 days in advance on the interent.

Thanks! I was thinking about doing an italy pass since we will be traveling to a few cities there and then just doing individual tickets for vienna and munich. We will be in Munich for Oktoberfest, are there any other things that you would recommend doing? Reply to this

You could get Bavaria day train passes. They cost less than 30 Euros and are good for 5 adults. Some of he villages in Bavaria are really pretty. And there are the mountains.

I recommend a visit to Zug spitze
You can take a cable car or the speical mountain train up to it. There is lots of snow up there all year round, but there is a cosy cafe to sit in. Reply to this

theres to many places to even start with. I lived in Italy for 5 years and saw alot and I read this eBook that really helped me see the land through the eyes of a native. Some Italian woman wrote the eBook and showed alot of things in famous big cities and small out of the way towns that no tourist would even find - the REAL stuff. It was very informative on where to go and where to go where the locals eat!!!!
