Thank you for your response. Looks like you really move about the world too. What is the best place you have ever visited and why?

Mine is a toss up between the Amazon jungle or the wats of Cambodia. Reply to this

Yeah, I get around the world but there still seems to be an incredible amount of it that I have not yet seen. One travel memory that stands out for me is looking at a map of the world on a camping side cafe wall in the Former Yugoslavia, when I was 19. I had just spent 3 months getting there from Ireland. Even though I was travelling at a leisurly pace, I still felt like I was covering a huge distance. I had crossed a continent after all. When I looked at that map of the world, I was shocked by how little of the world I had actually seen in the 3 months. India on that map really stands out in my memory as being so far away from where I was currently standing and I though, when I go there I will really be far from home.

I didnt get a chance to go to India until 9 years later. I have now been there 3 times. So far, I consider India to be the ultimate travel experience. The first time I went there it changed something in me forever. Sounds dramatic, but it is true. I have never felt the same, since that first time in India. Reply to this

Tell me what that changed inside of you. Mostly, I find that people are the same around the world. We all want to know something about each other, and share a curiosity and brotherhood (sisterhood). I also realize how fortunate we are here in the US, with all that we have, which is probably way too much. But I think we find a way to share it with others less fortunate, either in expeiences or in spirit. It is always great to be back home again.

Then after a few weeks, it is time to figure out the next move, whether locally or across an ocean or hemisphere. My next big trip is to Chile, a drive from Patagonia all the way up to the desert. Next year, who knows, maybe Africa, Turkey, or back to SE Asia. We are truly blessed in so many ways. I am so happy that you are sharing it with me and others through this blog. Reply to this

My senses were constantly and continuously bombarded with extremes of good and bad, while I was in India. It was a bit like my head was turned upside down and all the contents of it shock about and then they all fell back into a different place. How I saw reality and how I felt about it changed.

My next trip is to Brazil and Uruguay next November. 😊 I am pretty excited about it, because I havent been in S. America for a decade. The number of people I met when I travelled there who had been mugged at knife and gun point just put me off, so I did not feel like going back there until now.

I love South America as well. I have been to Brazil and Peru. September, I am going to Chile, as I said. Still have not decided on where to go next year, maybe Western Australia or back to SE Asia, my favorite. Reply to this

When I was 15 I went into the Bush in Quebec Canada. They boated us in about 10 miles and dropped us off and said, see you in a week. We canoed and trained for a week, they brought us more supplies and we went back out and did over 100 miles of lake canoeing the next week.

The water was so pure that you could dip your cup in the middle of the lake and drink. No one for miles but who was with us. Loons laughing on the lakes. Nothing like it. Reply to this

Banff, National Park. Alberta. Canada.
I visited the area in 2005.
I couldn't even describe the beauty of that place. The color of the water in the lakes, ice caps on the mountains (in the summer).
I really recommend it to anybody. Pure natural Wonder.

I really like New York. I think the best place in new york is central park. I have been there 2 year ago with my husband. I am really impressed with Central Park's beauty and size. It is wonderful place for visitors to New York City to enjoy a bit of relaxation. It is full of natural beauty.

darry----I agree with you. We wondered from camp to camp, never thought about the "world" on the outside and had a great time. This is a place with no TVs, no phones, no street cars and lots of animals. Just hope it stays that way. Reply to this

Hello Sandeep 😊

You could check out the Canadian consulate websites for that information. I think the visa requirements may depend on which passport you hold.
