I am going to relocate to Australia in September. I am looking to find out what kind of bag I should buy..

Hi
Thank you for reading my post.
Soon I will relocate to Australia trough trough Dubai airport. I have a Salewa 60+10 backpack which I will use to carry my trekking and camping equipments but I do not know what size and model of bag I should buy for other things like suits, ....

Things that I will carry are as follow and in addition I should get a travelling bag, something rolling and easy to carry.
1- My DSLR camera bag which can be attach to waist.
2- My laptop messenger bag
3- My backpack which is mentioned above.
4- A rolling, easy to carry bag for everything else.

I can spent about 150USD for the new bag, but I need your advices on model and size and brand. I do not know whether they have some restriction on bag size or not.

Some small questions:
- Can I carry number 1 and 2 into the cabin?
- Can I carry my toothpaste and an small perfume into the cabin?
- Can carry my shaving machine into the cabin? (I will be in different air ports for 3 days without having access to my travelling bag, so I should carry small personal things inside my messenger bag)

Hello James 😊

I usually just take the smallest bag that can hold all the stuff I absolutely need to take with me. I dont think the brand name matters too much.

Here is a thread which may interest you.

I read this post title wrong the first time. I read it as

"what model and size of bag should I buy for time travel"

I was intrigued as to what the responses would be.

As for the actual question. The restrictions for baggage will be clearly stated on your airline's website. You can carry a certain size of liquid in the cabin in a clear, seeled plastic bag that you can get at the airport. For the exact specifications, check out the airline. They will also tell you exactly what baggage you can take onto the plane. For some airlines it's ONLY one 7kg bag of a specific size. Others say you can take a laptop or camera bag too.

There may also be restrictions on how many bags you can put in the hold, as well as the total weight. Some airlines let you take more than one bag up to the dictated weight allowance. Others only let you take one.
