Hello all. I will be in Hanoi 2 days before my Vietnam visa runs out. I was hoping to bus into Northern Laos to start section 2 of my trip. As far as I can see, the border crossings in Vietnam into Laos are in the South of Vietnam. I don't have time to bus there, so my other option is to purchase a flight. Does anyone know if there is a border crossing in the north of Vietnam into Laos? Or am I stuck flying?

Cheers!!!

There is a border crossing into Laos in Hatinh (Cautreo Border). You can catch the bus from HN to Ha tinh easily (340km) and then go to Cau treo border by bus (120km). From border to vientiane distance about 200km.
Good trip to you. Reply to this

Well, You can ask many Travel Agency in Hanoi about the bus to Vientian, passing Cau Treo border.
Takes about 20 hours and departs everyday at 7 PM. Cost about 15 usd.
And you can get your Laos Visa at boder.
Then you can leave Vietnam 1 day before.
Dont too worry. Reply to this
