Want to experience the 'Real Vietnam'?

I was lucky enough to meet an amazing man whilst traveling in Vietnam

I met Tung on my first day in HCMC whilst sitting in 23/9 Park near the Ben Than Market in District 1. He was well presented, polite and friendly, but still I was skeptical of his authenticity as I have been scammed before. He carried with him a book filled with customer testimonials all of which praised his ability and stressed his trustworthiness and I am now truly glad I took the time to read it as it convinced me to employ his services, which exposed me to the experience of a lifetime.

He is a 60 year old HCMC local with around 20 years experience as a freelance tour guide. He is known and welcomed where ever he travels and so are those who travel with him. He is truly a unique human. One of the most genuine people I have ever met and I grew to love him in such a short but intense period of time.

We traveled together for 15 days through the Mekong Delta, over to the Cambodian border town of Chau Doc, up to Dalat, and then over to NhaTrang. We ate together and shared a bed most of the time to cut costs and grew to be very close. So close that it was very sad to part ways. We have since kept in touch via email and this is how I know that he is finding things very difficult at the moment and cannot find any customers.

So please contact him an arrange a tour. I guarantee that you will not regret it! You will have an unforgettable time and, at the same time, you will be helping a very poor man support his family.

Please contact me with any further queries about Tung or Vietnam in general. I look forward to hearing about your experiences with Vietnam's best kept secret: Tung the freelance tour guide.

Happy travels,

Wade tibaldi

Can you forward his e-mail. Looking to do a trip there this year and would love to have a local show us the way. Any recommendations on where to go and not go? Reply to this
