Hello there,
I am planning to go with a group of friends to Borneo.
First step of our journey is Kuching.
From here we would like to go and see the longhouses passing through Sibu/Kapit.
Instead of flying from Kughing to Sibu I was thinking of taking the Express Boat.
Would anyone reccomend this solution? Do you know what time does the boat leave?

I have done the same thing ,,, I have left from Kuching early in the morning, and took a boat to Sibu, from there i guess u need to change the boat and take the one going to Kapit. If you will leave kuching with the first boat early in the morning, you will arrive Kapit around 6 PM. You have to stay a night in Kapit and the next day morning take another boat to Belaga. In Belaga you will be able to go to the long houses and stay with them in thier house. You will be able to do that through the guest houses over there, for my self i met a men called Jhon (or Jhony maybe) and he was a nice man. I would recommand him for your tour in Belaga. If you met him, tell him Ray form Oman says hiiiii,, hehehe.
P.S: Iam not sure about the boat timings, as i have done Borneo in 2005.

there only one trip a day from kuching to sibu. 8.30 am and the fare is MYR 45.00
and from sibu to kuching at 11.30 am..the express boat company is express bahagia
