I wont have much time, but hopefully with what little time I do have I can see whatever is worth seeing. I'll need to stay somewhere pretty central, so any opinions of areas to stay would also be appreciated.

Are there any areas known for where backpackers stay, or pubs to go to where I can meet people?

ANY advice or points of view of Bangalore would be appreciated.
Also, if you happen to be there within the next couple of weeks and fancy meeting up with another random traveller, let me know! Reply to this

Hi Graham,

MG Road is almost like the central location in B'lore. You can look at some hotel options here. Not too sure where backpackers stay, but you can login to couchsurfing.com and check if someone is willing to host you.

There are a lot of temples and parks in B'lore. You can visit Malls or theatre's. B'lore has lots of resturants and pubs where you get a vaeirty of cusines. However visiting any of these depends on your choice.

I would suggest going to a place called 13th Floor, Barton Center on M.G Road and offers excellent evening views of the city. Service is a bit slow, but the ambiance makes it worthwhile.

Some other nice pubs are Firangi Paani, Geoffery's, Hard Rock Cafe, Opus, Take 5 etc.

Places around B'lore worth visiting are Mysore, Coorg, Bandipur Sanctuary , Nagarhole National Park, Nandi Hills, etc.

Hope this helps!
