Need your suggestions for a short trip (6 days) to Thailand of which 4 nights will maybe be Krabi and 2 nights in Bangkok.
The 4 nights would be our honeymoon, I think I am the only one in the world going for a “4” days “honeymoon”, we thought of Krabi, we do not want any place with a busy club night life! Somewhere quite beside the beach preferably all alone in a bungalow or so not to far from Bangkok so we wouldn't loose time traveling.

This will be my second visit to Bangkok, last year stayed in Pratunam and shopped in MBK, but can’t remember the name of a market that had all the international brands for very low prices, anybody knows which one am I taking about?

Thank you for your help,

Mariam & Fakhri

A supermarket for international food brands might be the Villa Market, although even Tops and Foodland supermarkets do have foreign foods. (Some of the Tops, Foodland and newer Villa Markets also have pretty nice in store lunch counters too, selling Western and Asian specialties.)

Unless you mean a different type market. Panthip Plaza for computers and electronics, Chatuchak Weekend Market for odds and ends and Robinson Malls have lots of clothing and other stuff for sale too! Area near the Baiyoke Tower Hotel is a mini garment center, off of Phetchaburi Road.

This place is across the street from the Panthip Plaza and near the garment center area.

Good luck.

Hi Sir Halberd,
Thank you for all the info, but I think I did not explain myself correctly, actually there is a (Place) which is not a shopping mall but rather like a local traditional market where I bought bags, shoes and home accessories, it also had a small puppet theater and a lot of restaurants, I am trying to remember the name, but can’t!
I stayed in a hotel in Pratunam and had to take a taxi ride of 20 minutes to reach it, this is the place I need your help with.

Any other places you could advice for shopping of casual and office suits for a good and not expensive price?

Thank you for your help,

Hello Mariam 😊

I have not read the above posts so dont know if they mentioned that there are very good tailors in Thailand. You could take your favourite office suit to Thailand and ask them to make copies of it.

Beats me, perhaps Bo Bae Market?

You are sure it is not Chatuchak?

I don't have much use for suits now days, I do know that there are several tailors offering services in the Sukhumvit Road area, not far from the Nana Skytrain stop. When you do get a tailored suit you should have several fittings to get it just right, plus I know you know not to pay the whole kit and kaboodle right up front. Several fittings is a good idea, sometimes when they promise to mail a suit to you - they don't!

Hey, good luck.

Mariam,
I think you are talking about Patpong night market; by far the best and cheapest market I found in Thailand for counterfeit goods.

In regards to the honeymmon I have heard that Ko Chang, near the border with Cambodia, is a very nice place and not too developed. It is also not really that far from bangkok. Anywhere in thailand is only an hour and a half flight max anyway.

Cheers,

Hi All,
Can you please suggest where to stay for 4 nights?
Somewhere quite beside the beach preferably all alone in a bungalow or so not too far from Bangkok so we wouldn't loose time traveling, would would fly to the sea side.

The Suan Lum night bizarre is the one you are thinking of. The puppet theatre is the Joe Louis puppet theatre. It's near Lumpini park. You can get to it on the MRT.

I did not go to the Suan Lum night bizarre. However I did find the best shopping in Thailand at patpong, despite the seedy setting. They asked ridiculous prices to begin with but we were amazed how low they were prepared to go. If anyone can compare the two I'd be interested to hear their thoughts. Reply to this
