Meet up in BA? Advice?

Hi,

I will be traveling alone to BA the second week in March... looking to meet people who are doing the same and would like to explore the city together and possibly take trips to Mendoza, Iguazu Falls, and Punta del Este?

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to sleep? I am looking for relatively cheap but safety and cleanliness are the highest in importance. Also, would love to find a place close to places to go out at night.

Thanks,
Monica Reply to this

Hi Monica and welcome!

I been in mendoza a few years ago, and I can tell that is really beautiful and the people is very friendly, about a place to stay there, you have different options may be you can rent an apartment, or a hostel it depends of your budget, also you can visit the website of the gobierno de buenos aires ( tourism section) they have cheap and different options.
I would like to put the links because is easier for you to find, but I am not sure if the system leaves me....

You'll have an amazing time. the weather is perfect in ba right now. if i were you, i would look for a place in palermo soho. palermo house is a good place and near lots of night time stuff, daytime shopping, and cool boutiques/eateries. you basically can't go wrong. plus its near the subway so you can head into whichever barrio you like.

i think you can book from minihostels.com or if not on hostelworld. Reply to this

Mary and Kim - thanks so much for the suggestions! I think I was looking at Hostel Suites Palermo actually - do you recommend Palermo House over Hostel Suites?

Also, I think I will only have time for either Mendoza or Iguazu Falls - which do you recommend? Is it easy to meet other travelers who might want to do these trips with me if I stay at Palermo House or Hostel Suites? Reply to this

Mendoza is a great town and the wine tour there was really good fun. However, if I had to pick Mendoza or Iguacu, I wouldn't hesitate to pick Iguacu. It was a simply amazing place and absolutely breathtaking. It's an absolute highlight of our trip and awe-inspiring.

For accommodation, I would recommend staying in a hostel in San Telmo, which is a beautiful part of BA and full of great restaurants and bars.

if you do make it to Uruguay, we preferred Punta del Diablo to Punta del Este!
