Iran is one of the countries of the world that is depicted in the western societies' media only through what seems to be the obvious and dismal reality of such country. Current headlines warning about Iranian nuclear programme, the president who is making outrageous statements on daily basis causing fear to those living in democratic societies are mostly why such a small number of people is trying to dig bellow the surface and learn more about Iran. Ban put on all the social networks thus preventing people to connect and share thoughts and opinions, no freedom of information nor speech are keeping youth of Iran in a strange kind oof vacuum. If you want to learn more about Censorship in Iran and how it effects their society, if you are interested in hearing a different kind of voice talking about Iran and Iranians, you should read The Age of Nepotism, the book by Vahid razavi, or visit the site

I had a couple of espressos and a read of the newspaper the government produces to keep us up to date on world affairs. The Iranian president says that Iran is going to prosecute the US internationally for war mongering, and they are also going to take action against the Iraqis for using illegal chemical weapons during what they call the Iraq induced war.
The Iranian president says that he will discuss Irans right to produce nuclear weapons in Rome, but there will be no negotiating because when one negotiates about ones rights it always involves giving up some of ones rights.

This is an extract from my blog about Iran. Emails from Iran

In another issue of the same newspaper, I read that according to the Iranian government Iran is amongst the top 20 developed countries in the world and the list placed Iran above the Netherlands.

Also, according to the Iranian president (at least this is what the newspaper said he said), Iran already has a nuclear bomb which they bought from Russia.

So, does this newspaper deliver the news or the propaganda?

Iran is country run by extremist but the people are very open to western culture. American movies, music, clothes and life style are choice among young Iranians. Just ignore the extremists and enjoy one of the oldest nations in the world.

Iranians are blogging,......

....ensuing attempts by the government to restrict or censor their online communications.

Jonathan Zittrain, a professor at Harvard Law School who is an expert on the Internet, said that Twitter was particularly resilient to censorship because it had so many ways for its posts to originate — from a phone, a Web browser or specialized applications — and so many outlets for those posts to appear.

I received a private message asking me to post the following annonomously.

hi Dear Mell Due to spy by iranian governers, I could not publish this comment in the public page of your topic, I will bw grate full if publish this comment by unknown author . I think iranian people clearly could made a difference between iranan geverners politics and our desires and our wishes. Hezbolahs soldiers killed our patiot in our streets in our country. but we could show to the world that we are believe in friendship, peace, poem, beauty and we are against iranan geverners politics. iranian people could show that we are not colleague of the irans regime in Axies of Evil (as George W. Bush said). but this declaration was so hard and expensive. tho cost was more than 21 martyr. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=76W-0GVjNEc&skipcontrinter=1
