Via Ferrata - any experiences?

looking for recommendations, tips, ideas for trips, good operators... and just general chat about it

I'm considering doing some Via Ferrata in the summer - I would love to hear form anyone who has done it, got opinions of it (is it 'climbing for dummies?'!) or can recommend great places, treks, itineries, people you can recommend, places to avoid, kit to buy etc etc.

I would love to do a 6 day trek, sleeping in different places every night. I understand that you can do it in the Dolomites, but is there anywhere else in the world?

For those who don't know, Via Ferrata is italian for 'iron road' and are paths and routes that involve fixed metal steps, cable slides and all kind of daring-do but while being safely attached to the metal bits.
I've never done it, but it looks fun!
