Hi...Here are some places to visit in Brisbane.

SOUTHBANK - (previous site of Expo 1988) today it is in the heart of Brisbane and is Parks, theaters, Coffee Shops restaurants. The have regular events there as well. See here http://www.visitsouthbank.com/
BRISBANE BOTANIC GARDENS - http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/BCC:BOTANICG::pc=PC_1346
CLIMB THE STORY BRIDGE (One of the Bridges that cross the Brisbane River) - http://www.storybridgeadventureclimb.com.au/
OUR BRISBANE - (This is a site run by the Brisbane City Council. It has things to see and do, free events,markets,festivals ect.) http://www.ourbrisbane.com/see-and-do
LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY - http://www.koala.net/index.htm
NATIONAL PARKS: Here you can book sites to stay in our National Parks (You would need camping gear though): https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks/iaparks/gds/
PRIVATE CAMPING: There are places where you can book chalets/cabins near National Parks one of the ones I know of is Bunya Mountains (about 3hrs out of Brisbane). Great if you want to see Bush Turkeys, Wallabies, Eagles, Kookaburras and Possums. They also do a Bush Food Tour and as with most National Parks the Ranger does the Night Time spotlight walks (spotting animals).
If you are after the Beach, look on the National Park site above and book for Fraser Island. Unfortunately I a have not been, but can advise you to go. Especially if want to see wild dingoes. if you do go there a Fraser Packs you must read, these you get from the National Parks offices and these give you information about the Dingoes, as they do stalk people and have been known to attack small children. Some camping area are fenced off.
AUSTRALIA ZOO (Steve Irwin's Zoo) - http://www.crocodilehunter.com/
GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS - If you travel out to the zoo you are in the Glasshouse Mountains -http://www.glasshousemountains.com.au/
IF YOU TRAVEL IN LATE DECEMBER (You can go to a well know Folky Festival at Woodford and general hippy hangout) - http://www.woodfordfolkfestival.com/

Okay well that will give you a lot to look at. Reply to this
