Help needed with hostels/cheap hotels

Hi guys,

I've been looking on the internet for hours to find a decent hostel/cheap hotel in central shanghai. I'm travelling to Shanghai on April 20th with my boyfriend as our first stop on out RTW trip. As it is our first destination we wanted somewhere friendly, central and nice to stay for our first few days. We'd like a double room with private bathroom. From looking around it seems that it's possible to get what we want for no more than £10 each per night. I've seen a couple of places that I particularly like but can't find them on a street map in china guidebooks.

Location is obviously important so we want to know how central these places are:
- Koala international youth hostel
- Qjan Dao Hu Hotel
- Shanghai city centre YH (Utels)

Others we like the sound of are The Golden Island Hotel, Hujing Hotel, and the Hiker hostel (and we can find these on a map!).

Can anyone please inform us of where exactly the 3 places listed above are? Also, has anyone stayed in any of the places mentioned, if so, what are they like? Can anyone recommend any other places?

Any help would be very much appreciated. We're at a loss and don't know where to book!

I could recommeded you cheap hotel and hostel but in shanghai they are all accept guest who carries chinese passport only so from all 3 above you should choose 1 or 3 will be less risk in language problem. Reply to this
