Need a little help deciding where to go whether i should go to Nanjing, China or St. Petersburg, Russia.
Anyone have any opinions on where to go. I am torn up between Nanjing China and St. Petersburg Russia. I love museums so St. Petersburg would be a great place to go but I think going to China would be just as amazing. Oh and Glasgow Scotland is another option. So Please help with your feedback! Thanks.
Reply to this Well, I don't have any idea about Russia, no suggestion on this.
But Nanjing is a fine place. You can even explore Shanghai, Suzhou etc. or even a Yangtze River Cruise, special journey and unforgettable experience.

Reply to this I will suggest to visit Northeast China for some different views. You can find some musuems and sightseeing spots. My recommendation follows:
Liaoning Provincial Musuem. It is one of the earliest and best-preserved musuem, famous for paintings, calligraphies, stone carvings, jade wares, etc.
Shenyang Imperial Palace. It was the royal palce of Manchurian emperors and are well-preseved. You can enjoy the splendid buildings and fine exhibits. it is listed as world culture heritage.
Changchun Palace. It was the palace of the last emperor in China.
Besides history, you can enjoy the modern facilities, like easy transportation, luxury hotels and dilicious delicacies.
I bet you can enjoy the trip there.
Reply to this I've been to two of your three choices, Glascow and Nanjing, so my choice would be St. Petersburg. However, that's not what you wanted to know. Nanjing is an interesting city, but doesn't have much to see or do really. It is relatively close to Suzhou, Shanghai and Hangzhou which are all worth a visit, but don't expect to see all of them in one weekend. As for the Yangtze River cruise...skip it. Save your money and go to Yangshuo in Guangxi province, which would be a bit of a journey, but well worth four days to a week. Finally, you can catch an overnight train to Beijing pretty easily and the Wall and Forbidden City are must sees.
Glascow is an industrial city that is rather gray, the people only mildly friendly (although they're loads of fun outside their own city) and again not much to do. However it is centrally located and it's easy to get to Edinburgh, the Highlands and places in England and Wales. Another downside is expense. Britain is very expensive and cheap as you try to make it, it will always take a budget of 2-3 times that of a day in China.
So, I hope this helps. I'm currently on my second trip to China and have something of a love/hate relationship with it, but I will be back for more after this trip. And if you decide to come to China, a few of my blogs might be helpful, who knows.
Good Luck,

I don't know about the places Nanjin, St.Petersburg. I guess China is very nice. But why don't you think about visiting Mongolia? It's nice place to visit. There you'll be able to visit old buddhist monasteries and discover Mongolian horse-based Nomadic culture simultanously. It will be an unforgottable experience. Mongolian beautiful nature, nomadic culture and the monastaries, everything is so wonderful.
