Stacey losing things is not so great, so buy cheaply and if it takes a walk the is less to worry about:=)

Hygeine probably. The hostel owners might be thinking of park benches, train floors, and other grubby places where people probably slept previously in their sleeping bags.

. i'm going to austria and switzerland to tour for a month. all the hostels i plan to stay at require only travel sheets no bags. one of the hostels told me it was because of bedbugs. they said they would inspect the travel sheet, if it wasn't clean enough i would have to buy or rent one of theirs. they sounded pretty uptight. it was actually the person i emailed who turned me on to allersac

Reply to this I ended up purchasing a set of travel sheets, but I did spend more $$ than I probably should have. I bought the 100% bamboo ones to help with my hubbie's allergies. It was well worth the investment and now use them at home too. I bought mine from BedVoyage but I think you can also get them at Neimen-Marcus or in their catalogue. I would think the cheaper ones would be just fine if you don't suffer from asthma or skin allergies, etc.
Reply to this i have seen the bedvoyage sets, they look great. in my research i found that bamboo is naturally antibiotic. they were pricey but usually you get what you pay for
