Wondering if anybody's been to Isla Holbox - if so, what was their experience like.
I'll be heading to Isla Holbox in Mexico (an island about 40mi NW of Cancun) for my honeymoon - just wondering if anybody here has ever been? We've looked on TripAdvisor and found mostly good things - just wondering if anybody has some good suggestions to share? We'll be staying at the Posada Mawimbi (on the beach). Really looking forward to the trip!!!
Reply to this If you are looking for peace and quiet, them Holbox is the place for you. Not too much going on on the island. Best time to go is when the whale sharks are there, May through September. Can be chilly in the winter months.

I was just there one week ago.
Isla Holbox is a great place to be like Michele said its a very quite place.
The only incovinience were the mosquitos oh my we were camping and they were all over the place.
So my recomendation will be to stay in a place where it could be with alot breeze.
We ate in Evelyn restaurant and the Langosta Pizza its just fantastic we also ate lunch some empanadas that they were fantastic.
