How do you get from Bangkok to Phuket??

Hi everybody,
I was searching through the forums and saw Mell's post about catching an overnight VIP bus from Bangkok to Phuket. How much are these bus tickets and what is the duration of the journey?

I will be spending 7 nights in Thailand and initially the whole time was to be spent in Phuket. Recently I've been reading about Bangkok and I would like to see the city as well. Would 2 nights in Bankok, 1 night on the bus and then 4 nights in Phuket be ok or rushing it too much? I feel like spending all 7 nights in one place is too long.

We will be flying into Bangkok, can I fly out (to Hong Kong) from Phuket or will I need to fly out from Bangkok?

Thanks for your help 😊

FLY!

My BKK to phuket air asia flight is 1600 Baht compared to the approx cost of a 600 baht Bus (and 10 hours longer travel) Hard to say no when comparable air travel in North America costs 4 x more minimum. Flights to Hong Kong are most likely thru BKK.

Hope that helps. Reply to this

Hello Renee 😊

The VIP busses from Bangkok to Phukett cost less than 20 Euros and the journey lasts for around 16 hours.

It is not too rushed I think. You will be tired if you are getting off a long haul flight and the 2 nights in Bangkok will give you some rest. Of course there is more to do in Bangkok than you can do in 2 days but a person cant do everything... You could stay in Phukett town and take the local bus from the market to a different beach everyday. Try to avoid taxi drivers and tours on Phukett if you can do without them. Both are pains.
