From a 2/3 days trek to a 10+ days adventure, what are your best trekking memories around Asia? Did you end up going with a guide or did it your own way? Best/ Worst memories and funny anecdotes?

Just back from an amazing trek in South China (by the Burma border), and can’t help but think about the next one!
Would love to hear some stories from fellow traveler who decided to put on the trek shoes and explore Asia on foot with the occasional bus/ moto transfer!

So here it is to start....

Last Trek: Xishuangbanna (Yunnan, China)
When: Sept 27th - Oct 2nd
Trek Duration: 4 days
Highlights: minorities’ villages, hiking in tropical jungles, mountain and primitive forests
Guide: no

Best happy memory: lots of them! but guess that Yako (a tiny white dog met at the beginning of the trek and who followed us the whole way) would be the best one! He literally followed us everywhere! Walking 8 hours per day, riding motorbike and handling some of the most bumpy bus ride ever!

Worst memory: mmm....at the end we ended up laughing about those (and we still are...) but would say that being woken up at 4am in a pitch dark jungle by the water of the nearby river that suddenly went up...well...must have been one of them!
