Travel companion wanted for overland trip UK through Turkey, Iran, Pakistan to India
I am planning an overland trip to India, going via train from England through Turkey via Iran and Pakistan. I envisage staying one month in Iran and possibly two months in Pakistan, and then open-ended in India. The reason for my trip is partially research: I am very interested in shamanism, yoga and eastern spirituality. I have just returned from a nine-month overland trip through Asia, during which I made some contacts in that area - in particular in Pakistan, where I celebrated the Winter Solstice with the Kalash tribe in the Hindu Kush mountains. I would like to spend some more time with the Kalash to study their rituals. I am a writer and will publish about this trip - and ideally I'd like to travel with somebody who has an interest in photography, so that we could maybe collaborate on this project. In Iran, I would like to explore the roots of shamanism (I have contacts there, too); and I am interested in Sufism, too. In India, I would like to delve deeper into Yoga study.
Reply to this Man this sounds like a dream journey! I would love to join you on your travels and collaborate. Aargh! University always stopping me from doing exciting things 😊
I can't believe more people haven't taken you up on your offer already!~ I hope someone replies soon.
Good luck!
Reply to this Hi there,
when are you going to be in Iran and Turkey? I'm heading overland in that direction too, in february, but splitting off and going down to Syria/Jordan afterwards... if you're around at that time, you sound like you're up to some fascinating stuff, and it would be great to meet up for a while?
Reply to this Hi there - February might be a bit early for me as I am planning to leave around May. But let's stay in touch in case I do leave earlier!
Reply to this It sounds like fun. I'm planning a trip maybe in late, late May, June or July. My plan was to start in Turkey and then go to Kyrgyztan from there, but your trip sounds possibly more interesting.
