Should I prebook plane tickets when I travel around in SE Asia, or will I get an equally good price if I buy them just before?
My boyfriend and I am planning a trip to SE asia next spring (mars & april), and we are not sure if we should buy all our plane tickets now, or wait until just before?
The distances are:
Hong Kong --> Bangkok
Bangkok --> Siem Reap
Hanoi --> Hong Kong
(one way only)
any help would be highly appreaciated :-)

When I travelled around Thailand and Vietnam I purchased tickets on the net just prior to each leg of the journey. This gave me teh ability to go when I wanted. Flights are very cheap by Australian standards.

Bangkok-Siem Reap....that will be expensive as there is only Siem Riep Airlines. You may want to consider Bangkok-Pnomh Pen
HKG-BKK...that's easy, more than 10 airlines are doing it, the competition is quite open, and prices low.
Hanoi-Hong Kong, it has improved lateley, but it will still be a high one way fare, only Hong Kong airline, Vietnam Airline and Cathay for the moment. It's a short flight, but not a cheap one.

Bangkok - Siem Reap
They are block ticket available which is $30 lesser per ticket available in mkt - please try to check that out around kao sarn road.

i mean to say that there are low cost ticket of PG ( bangkok airway ) the price is lower than any GDS system.
It comes only in form of coupon ticket.
