Hello Tuan 😊

Take an overnight VIP bus from the Southern bus station in Bangkok. There are no beds on them but the seats recline and are fairly comfortable. Take a sweater. They overdo it with the air conditioning.

Jaja, it is safe. At least it is safe for you physically. The main nuisance are thieves. Keep your valuables in a moneybelt and not in your stored luggage. I have taken several night busses in Thailand and never experienced any threat as a woman traveller alone there.

I am not sure if there is a train route from Bangkok to Phuket. If there is, then it is also safe. I have taken the night train first and third class in Thailand without any problem. You will be reasonaly safe from thieves on the train because you keep your luggage where you can see it.

Be wary when you reutrn from Phuket to Bangkok. When I was there in 2006, I booked and paid for, in cash, a VIP bus to take me from Phuket to Bangkok in the day, arriving around 4PM. I wanted to trvel in the day so I could catch some of the scenery along the route. Come the big day, at 8 AM, a mini bus picked me up from the hotel. I thought it was just to take me to the bus depot. Yeah the bus depot allright. The one in Surat Thani. They finally did put onto a VIP bus after 7:30PM which arrived at Khao San road at about 4:30AM. I suppose they put me on a cheaper service and 'banked' the difference. Reply to this
