Borneo to Bali?
15 years ago, July 24th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #42894
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip through South East Asia. We will be flying into Brunei, travelling across Sabah and Sarawak and then Into Borneo. I suppose we will start off in Sabah then head West through to Sarawak then into Kalimantan.

Has anyone done a similar trip? Want to do a bit of Kalimantan but I can't find any info and getting to either Jakarta or Bali from Kilimantan.

Thanks for any ideas/info? Reply to this

Hi durbanboy,

I'm not quite sure about your planned itinerary but it sounds absolutely interesting. The best way to get precise information/suggestions involving Kalimantan would probably be through the relevant authorities, i.e. Indonesian embassy. For Sabah & Sarawak, you'll get plenty of feedback here as long as you clearly indicate your particular interest with these states (culture, wildlife, adventure). As mentioned earlier in my previous post, all states that make up Malaysia have their own beauty and uniqueness. Therefore knowing exactly what you want to see and where you want to go is good for starters. Plan ahead so you get to realise your ideal traveling experience!

Hellllo Durbanboy;

Well I have done the same trip but without Kalimantan. I started in Sarwak and all the way north to Sabah through Brunai. About Kalimantan, u can take Charlie's 76 advise or you can check out Kalimantan blogs and how the tourist they access Indoneisa through Sarawak. Iam sure you will find blogs here.

You can refer to my old reply to one of the toursit and if you need anything else then let me know.

Happy travelling. Reply to this
