I'll go to Beijing in august, i'll arrive after the end of tyhe olympic games. I'd like to go to see the great wall. I know that is possible to see more than one part of the great wall, but i have just one day and i don't know which is the best part to see. Could you help me please? Reply to this

If you dont feel like spending 3 hours in a car and would rather go to near by site, then would say MuTianYu is most likely the nicest site...about 1h30 from Beijing and slightly less touritic than other sites...Do avoid Badeline...over crowded! Reply to this

Regarding the Great Wall, if you like walking and hiking , I think Simatai is a nice choice. That section of the wall is kept very originally. And now road condtion is ok. From the downtown to the wall it is about 2 hours driving. You may have 4--5 hrs hiking on the wall. Though Mutianyu is cloeser to Beijing, it is very commercial. Reply to this

Mutianyu is good...if you like adventure and a part of the wall that hasn't been restored, try Simatai. You can easily go there and back to Beijing in one day. It is quiet there and beautiful! Reply to this
