Is it easy to find computers in Central America?
15 years ago, July 17th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #42222
Hello Travelers! I am leaving next month for a 7 month backpacking trip to CA. I will be starting my trip in Cancun and then following my feet for a while (hopefully the lead me South because I would like to make it to Cosa Rica).

I started a travelblog today, but I was wondering if it is truley worth the investment fot his trip. I will be staying in hammocks, hostels and with host families (through Servas), but I am not sure that I will be able to access a computer with internet weekly.

Are there many internet cafes in CA? Are the only on the Caribbean coast? How much should I expect to spend? Where are the good deals?

I would really appreciate any help you can give. I know that there are significantly less C. America blogs than other places and I was wondering if that was because computers are hard to find. Most of the blogs that this site has for the area are from students in programs or working volunteers... not a traveler without a plan or desination.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Amber 😊

It seems to me that even places which barely have running water and electricity manage to have the internet these days. I dont think you will have trouble finding interent cafes in CA.

Internet cafes in central america are as much about locals as it is about tourists. Most people don't have computers at home so internet cafes are the way to go for everyone. They have to be reasonably priced so that locals can use them too. Reply to this
