has anyone traveled from europe to pakistan via silk road by car? i would like to do that trip next year---so i have about 1000 questions !!!

I met someone doing exactly that (Germany to Pakistan) a few years ago. I bumped into him in his 4x4 as we crossed the Torugat Pass from Kyrgzstan into China. Apparently the paperwork getting a vehicle into was pretty intense so he ended up crossing illegally (i.e. not stopping long enough to be fully vetted). It's definitely possible and I imagine would be great fun.

Reply to this 2 of my friends went from India to Germany via Pakistan, Iran and Turkey on a motorbike. They just got out of Pakistan before Benazir Butto arrived back there in October.
