I'd like to volunteer in Indonesia/ Thailand / SE Asia without paying a whole heap... anyone know any good organisations?

I'd interested in doing a month or 2 of volunteering toward the end of this year... not terribly fussed about the actual country, but I'd love Indonesia would be nice.
Does anyone know any good organisations? I'm only after something low-key, am obviously happy to pay for basic food and accomodation, and am happy to do work with children/ environment stuff/ animals/ building etc.
thanks =) Reply to this

Hello Amy 😊

What about Dada's Children's Home. It is in Thailand near the Burmese border. It houses many single mothers from Burma who would have few other ways to survive if it didnt exist.

They charge around 4 Euros per day which I think includes accomodation and a few vegetarian meals per day. I am not certain because I did not volunteer but you could contact Lindsay the Canadian lady who runs it.

You can volunteer any services you can, like helping the kids speak English, working in the garden, writing proposal letters for fundraising, reading books to the kids.......

Hi! Have you considered going to the Philippines to volunteer?

Opportunities like building houses for the poor, teaching english to streetchildren, serving in a medical mission, community immersion the possibilities are endless.

You can check out abs-cbn foundation volunteer opportunities.

Hi,
There are loads of opportunities in Indonesia to help young students with conversational English.
