Travelling to venezuela, colombia argentina and brazil from sept to january - documents??

We are a group of two travellers, planning to make a trip to South America from the 10th September 2008 to the 15th January 2009.

We are flying to Venezuela, Caracas and leaving from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in January. Our stay in the whole of South America will be longer than 90 days, however we will stay in a single country for less than 90 days travelling from one place to the next.

We are concerned that upon entering Venezuela we will not have proof that we will be leaving the country in less than 90 days (our return ticket home from rio is 4 months later).

Should this be a problem?

I would really appreciate an answer

Regards,

Hi John

No, you should not have a problem. We travelled from Argentina up to Mexico - flying into Buenos Aires and out of Mexico City. We never had a problem entering/leaving a country. You will get a stamp with the permitted length of the stay when you arrive and always make sure that you get an exit stamp when you leave a country.

For Venezuela we received a stamp for 30 days only but I do not if the reason was that we told them that we plan to stay 30 days or if there was any other reason. Brazil and Argentina should give you 90 days each.

Cheers
Em and Frankie
