A Church on the way from Mérida to Los Llanos
Crossing one of the mountain ranges between Mérida and the Apure State we came across this beautiful old church built with little stones by hand.

Sunset over Los Llanos
On our horse ride through the plains we caught the sunset on the way home...

Cactus on a Mountain
The flora here is amazing. One minute you can be in the jungle, and the next surrounded by cacti and pine trees!

This little guy was sooo friendly that we got within a few feet of him. All he wanted to do was snuffle around and eat!

Hueque waterfall... wish we could have swam, but it was too dang cold and too rainy!

In the Médanos just outside of Coro. One of two deserts in ALL of South America.

Charlie´s Angels
I dunno who´s who... but we were drinkin wayyy too much Cucuey and this is what we ended up doing! The Chavistas thought we were just plain odd!

Hangin´on some dunes
Geri and I spent hours and hours just chillin´on the sand dunes and watching the sunset.

Look Ma! Another Waterfall
I think that when the earth was made Venezuela received more than its share of the waterfalls! And they´re all beautiful!

Palm Trees, Cacti and Reindeer
hmmm, I´m not sure if I can believe these are real Christmas decorations! But I guess I´ll take what I can get!

Desert Sunset
Only moments later the rain came down and we were drentched! It was worth it though, and cooling after a tough day of site-seeing!
