Arrived back in Havana at 1.00op.m.. Go go and JJ delivered us to the airport and others on the trip to their city hotels. We had a three hour layover at Havana Airport before our flight on “A Central American Airline, TACA, “, paint peeling off the plane, wasn’t a good look and they were ½ hr late taking off, arrived safely in Lima, after heaps of turbulence, lots of clapping and cheering when we landed in Lima, Peru. We had booked an apartment in Miraflores, through a guy called Rudi, and had been communicating with him for six months, all worked liked a clock work, driver etc etc≥ Rudi lives in France and his mum used to live in the house where we are staying. Just lovely and very safe, as well as normal door locks, there are iron bars through the middle of door which lock into place into the floor. Have been told Lima is not too safe, but Miraflores where we are staying is.

Spent day catching up on emails and washing everything in cases, ironing etc getting ready for next adventure.

Had a few km walk today around Lima, we are about 1 ½ km to beach, very high cliffs overlooking the Pacific ocean, it is a surfers paradise, one wave after the other, very scenic. So far we have felt very safe but at night stick to the main promenades walking out and home from dinner, jewels off and money down the bra. Loads of gorgeous little restaurants around here in amongst residential streets. Went to a Peruvian place last night which was wonderful, loads of families and couples, quite posh, but reasonably priced. Had a lovely mothers day lunch, we have a gorgeous deli 100 mts from our place, DeliFrance, $40.00 got a feast incl bottle of wine which all went down nicely, baguette, terrine, prosciutto, marchengo cheese, well deserved after our three hour walk this morning, watching all the paragliders jumping off the cliffs down at the beach, a very colorful site. Off to La Gloria for dinner tonight and then leave our lovely apartment and catch up with our next tour group tomorrow night, still staying in Miraflores for two more nights with group.
