Excellent marvels
Wow--great photos, as well as great info on all things Incan. I'd never seen photos of the handles on the stone blocks, nor had I seen (only read about) the salt flats (inspiring description of cooperation there) or the "experimental" gardens--which to me seemed more like a place where they might have planted sacred herbs/plants for ceremonies. Also, good for you for continuing the adventure alone--maybe not so easy, but still loads of fun.

I can understand that people have different tolerances of the day to day grind of the road...
and hope that Alex's parting was amicable. I think my Linda would have given up much sooner on the itinerary you are taking. We also allow each other to travel separately if one just doesn't feel like going on.
