amazing mountains
One appreciated how steep they were when we walked up them Day 2 Very, very tough day. The trail just kept going up and up. We climbed 900 metre to the top of Dead Womans pass. I thought that I might have been the dead woman found at the top. We didn´t stay long as I was feeling the altitude. Quite dizzy and I had a headache. The last Km to the top was very tough. I spent a lot of time stopping to look at the scenery. It was mainly steps. The way down was hundreds of steps as well. I found that a lot easier. The walking poles certainly made it easier. Went to Sayaqmarka which is a very well preserved town. It was then onto the campsite Chaquiqocha. We didn´t stop for lunch which meant that we were on the trail for most of the afternoon without any other climbers which was very nice. 13 kms in all. Even James found day 2 difficult.
