The long drive to Arequipa

Everyone awoke when it became light (5.30 am). Had a second shower and we went for a coffee at the nearby hotel which we ordered at 7.00 when they opened but actually arrived at 7.30. We wandered off again for a 50 minute walk near the ruins and came back to find breakfast prepared.

A good night´s sleep for Ed. Jo got fed up of her sleeping bag sliding down off her mat and continually having to wriggle back up. Also the ground is harder than a bed!!!

Got on the bus around 10ish for a very long drive, weaving along the coast for most of the way until we started upwards around 5.00 pm. Had a couple of stops along the way for lunch and necessities. We are both getting on with Stephen King's new book.............

Arrived 9.30 pm to a nice hotel in lovely grounds with a pool and a comfortable bed and ensuite facilities. Not having stopped for supper we had a late pizza down the road from the hotel and were happy to get the dirty washing together to be laundered tomorrow.
