Please notice I am standing!
Hola!

Well we stayed in Arequipa for a couple of nights in a nice quiet hotel that our helpful man from Puno organised for us! Was right in the center, called Los Torres Ugatre(spelling!) so very handy. Didnt get up to much, was really just another city but we got caught up with washing and getting pics on this etc. Martyn did find a new favourite place to eat though called El Turko (Thank you Lynsey!) It had the best chicken kebabs I dont want to think about how many we ate in 2 days!!

Got the overnight bus from Areqipa to Ica on sunday night. This time we booked with Cruz Del Sur, which is the best bus company in Peru but also the way most expensive but we thought since it was for like 13 hours we could treat ourselves, was like being on a plane we got dinner and everything (although neither of us ate the dubious looking meat!) We arrived in Ica first thing in the morning and got a taxi straight to Huacachina which is about 5km outside of Ica. Its is the coolest place ever there is a lagoon in the centre and hundreds of sand dunes around it. Our hostel, El Huacachinero is literally at the bottom of one of the dunes. The hostel has a pool so its been great lying by the pool and getting started on the tan, although we both appear to be a bit red so maybe not so good.

There are hundreds of companys around here that do trips up the sand dunes in bugggys and then you go sandboarding down the dunes. So off we went I was a little bit nervous as I am never any good at these things but Martyn was very excited, as we went over the first dune in the buggy it was so cool the dunes went on for miles and miles we totally werent expecting it was really lovely. The sandboarding was so much fun, Martyn had a bit of a funny start though, well actually he just did a total wipe out the whole way down was very funny wish I had pictures! But he got the hang of it quickly and was much better than me! There wasa lovely German couple on the buggy with us and we went out for dinner with them after

This was when he got good way ahead of me!
and they introduced us to the best restaurant here its called Sol de Ica, so needless to say we have eaten there non stop since then but its very cheap so dont feel too bad!!

So we are leaving here tommorrow to get the bus to Lima and we then fly to Sao Paulo and then get the bus straight up to Rio so lots of travelling we just cant wait. We tried the Peru national drink of Pisco last night and I think we are suffering today for it, very nice though! So Im off back the pool and Martyns off back to bed!! What a life!!

Will get the pics on in Brazil when we get a chance but that may be some time we will be far to busy hanging on Copacabana Beach!!

Lots of Love xxxxx
