After doing old town yesterday we decided to do New Town. Before
Otavalo. New town is like walking into a different city sports bars,
nightclubs, supermarkets and cocktail bars. Even the people are
different I found them more friendly maybe because it was alot more
touristy than Old town. We walked round for 2 hours in New town
looking round shops, bars,
and restaurants then stopped for a drink, the sun was blazing music
blaring out of the sports bar opposite it was nice like a square you
would find in any European city.
We had heard from a girl a couple of days before that there was a
shopping disrict in New town with cheap designer gear. So off we
strolled with our map in hand destinaton Mango (the shop for Hollie).
2 and a half hours later we were lost with not a clue where we were
and the locals frowning at us everytime we said Mango clothes?!? We
noticed when walking earlier from our hostel to New town a KFC and
McDonalds then during our 2 hour lostness (not sure that is a word) we
saw the golden arches. We decided to head back to the square and grab
something to eat as it was a really nice area. On our way we came
across rows and rows of indoor market, I saw a really nice poncho but
decided not to get it as there would be nicer ones at Otavalo.
We had a big meal at the square (like all of our meals upto now) and
then walked back to the hostel for an early night before Otavalo.

Muchos Love
