Another day in Quito

Settling into a routine now. We finally met up with the others to go into Quito to the internet cafe and even managed to find a supermarket which sells chocolate and every brand of shampoo and conditioner imaginable so everything´s good. Went to school for another solid four hours of one-to-one tuition. Grammar is starting to get a bit much but you really do need to speak Spanish here so it´ll be worth it in the end. Quito is utterly crazy now that Carnival is over (would have thought it was the other way around!) To cross a road in this city is to dice with death - not kidding. The traffic pays no attention to red lights and buses seem to think it´s a game to try and run down tourists - I think they must have a scoring system of some kind. They also have three different horns: a normal one, a loud blaring one which they use most of the time and one that wolf-whistles. Serious - I promise! Met up with almost everyone else at Papaya Net at nine (had to get a taxi there as we still haven´t managed to find it by ourselves) although you have to get taxis everywhere after dark especially in the Mariscal (tourist district). Sarah was already in hysterics from a note some guy had given her. Basically ´My name is Juan, I like get know you better!¨ Found a club that was free entry and free drinks before ten (for girls anyway), the guys were not impressed! We took pity on them and went and got them drinks. Very good night although we got back horribly late and we have to be up early for the school trip tomorrow!
