Sunday 11.7.2010 day 270 Fly to Galapagos Baltra We got up at 5:30 had bfast and then meet the bus that took us to the airport for our Early flight to Baltra, in the Galapagos Islands. We meet our naturalist guide and saw seals, sea lions and pelicans then we transferred to the g1 our boat. During World War II, Baltra was established as a US Air Force Base. Crews stationed at Baltra patrolled the Pacific for enemy submarines, and protected the mouth of the Panama Canal.
