Banos nas uchvatilo svoji pohodovou atmosferou. je tu skvele pocasi, bezpecno - nebojite se po 8 vecer jit ven a vsichni maji spoustu casu. Zatim zdaleko nejpohodovejsi mesto v Ekvadoru - tleskame Banos!!!
Dneska jsme s rozhodli prochodit okolni kopce a cesty.

Banos is a charming town and we did fall for it completely. The weather is fantastic and you are not afraid of going out after 8 p.m like in Quito and everyone seems to have a lot of time. This place is the best in Ec. so far!!! we applaud you Banos!!!
Today we decided to walk on the surrounding hills and paths. It was very easy hike when we compare it to the previous ones. We saw a local volcano Tungurahua hiding behind the clouds and still sleeping while a threat.
Then a huge, marble statue of Maria with Jesus, that was built by locals to protect them against the volcano. The cult of Saint Maria is very strong in Ecuador and in her power to help, which was confirmed by a few miracles that are shown in the local church.
We stopped at the cemetery too, i know it may seem morbid, but we couldnt help ourselves. Its something really special and extraordinary, in Europe at least. The dead are not buried into the ground, but to a tomb above the ground in a structure looking like a house and the whole graveyard looks like a proper village.
Kate finally discovered what she loves about Ec. cuisiune - its empanada which is a fried potato based dough filled with veg or meat in the shape of apple turnover. Me, i will eat anything, rice is still o.k and our breakfast of eggs still tastes good.
