Medellin

My God is greater than yours
When I was travelling Peru, Bolivia & Nthn Chile that led to my blog "The Cult of Pachamama...Catholicism Unplugged" I was blown away by the Catholic Church displaying its power & wealth to seek observance & adoration of the indigenous/local peoples. This image of yours conveys it perfectly...the magnificent Medellin Cathedral with a background of the simple crammed dwellings of the populous. Brilliant.

Yeah.... we spotted the church on our way out of town and deliberately got off the train in an attempt to nab it on our way back... It does exude a strange luminosity.

Have to admit that every time there was a close-up opportunity (particularly the insects) we thought of you. Our cheapo camera (that struggles so much in diminished light and with moving images) seems to be trying its damndest to make up for its failings if you flick it onto macro...
