Taganga, Colombia

Woke up early on Wed 23rd October and got a 4 hour bus ride to a little fishing village called Taganga. It is about 15 minutes away from Santa Marta and is quite a popular backpackers hangout. We stayed in Divanga Hostel and met so many cool people here. The first night Boucs and I went and found a local restaurant on the beach and ate the most amazing Red Snapper ever! Really big portions, we had one each and also another main course in the middle as a sharer - we were so full!
The following day we went and chilled at the beach all day and done some snorkelling, then in the evening got a taxi into Santa Marta. We went to a club called La Poerta which is Spanish for "The Door". Cool club we were there till 2AM then went to another Club called Ancon with a Colombian girl I met there.
All in all we had a great time in Taganga, highlights included;
- Me and Boucs taking Salsa lessons, we nailed it - we´re pros now!
- Waking up at 8.00AM every morning to the sound of pumping music as everyone in the village have massive speaker systems which are almost as big as their houses!
- Watched a criple on crutches fall over in front of us and we thought it might have been a scam so carried on walking!
- A trip to the nearby beach of Rodadero - we cained the street food there!
- Scuba diving at a beach called Bahia Gairaca which is basically near the enterance of Tyrona National Park.
- Missing the boat to Tyrona National Park because we were both as bad as each other, so ended up getting a cab there - everyone here seems to think we´re the richest backpackers they met in their lives!
