The biggest lock We've seen
2. jan - 10. jan

(slovenska verzija spodaj)

After Cali our path continued to the capital of Colombia - Bogota where we stayed only one day. The night bus from Cali arrived early (5h in the morning), so we looked for a hostel and had a chance to see the city with almost nobody on the streets and the sunlight that colored the old buildings was really magic. We strolled through the old center of "La Candelaria", visited the famous "Museo de Oro" - museum of gold, where you can see all the treasures of Colombia. Bogotá's charm is that at each step, you can find someone who sells fresh fruit, so you never run out of vitamins (moms will be happy, hehe). The afternoon in Bogota was reserved for shopping, because Anja was getting mayor shoping crisis. After 3 hours of shopping we left empty-handed (and Anja was in a very bad mood😊)

Next day we headed to Zipaquira, which is the No.1 attraction in Colombia - salt mine with its famous cathedral in the mine. We took a tour of the mine and its 12 chambers and then explored deeper along the trenches. Uros had also the opportunity to light up the dynamite (see picture), and blow up a good portion of the passage😊) In the afternoon we were off to Villa de Leyva, which is known for the largest plaza for its size. We settled into the hostel and then immediately sat down in cafe on the market with fresh squeezed shake in-hand😊!
Next day we went around to the FLINSTONES house (Casa del Barro), then to the Parque de Arcehologico Villa de Leyva (more or less boring) and then to El fosil (dinosaur fossil found at this site plus many other smaller fossils) and in the end to the Pozos Azules (Blue Lakes, which are more green than blue). In the evening, another great dinner.
Second day we set off to the nearby village of Santa Sofia and from there on to Paseo de Angeles and El Hayal waterfall. On the way we hitchhiked one car with a very friendly family - we were loaded into the trunk and we were adopted for the day. We were lucky because they had same plan like us.

Next place was San Gil, with very entertaining main square, where in the evening all the young and

old gathers and you can drink, eat and sing! We made a trip to Barichara and along the Camino Real to Guane - great path that was build by indigenous people more than a century ago. On the way back we stopped in Barichara and had the best steak we had ever eaten and it was sprinkled - Crunchy gigantic ANTS! 😊)) Very tasty!

Days go by very quickly, so we're back in Santa Marta and tomorrow we'll try to find the lost city! ...

We'll let you know in the next blog if we found it! Until then....

Saludos

Naselila

Some parts you really need wings!!!

😊)) Zelo okusno!!!

Dnevi minevajo zelo hitro, tako sva ze spet v Santa Marti, kjer jutri odrineva poiskati izgubljeno mesto!! ...

Sporociva v naslednjem blogu ce sva ga nasla!! Do takrat pa..
