Boarded the bus to the ship about 9:45 only to find out about 5 minutes after leaving on the bus the we could not go the port due to a strike at the port. Well I thought we were in trouble then.
But strikes down here are not like in the US because it was over about. 2 hours later. But we were delayed enroute and got a free tour of Vino Del Mara and Valparaiso. We saw the resort town of vino Del Mar, the coast, the area and last we saw one of the statues from Easter island which is on loan to Chile. See picture. We then drove north along the coast for a few miles and then turned around. Then we headed back to Valparaiso for a short tour. We headed to the port around 2:30. We arrived and a line, a very loooong line. But thanks to our tour guide, she marched us head of the long line to,the handicapped line due to my cane and meads wheel chair. Passed a lot of ticked of people

This port situation is horrible. You can tell it is an industrial port and not used cruising passenger. So after registering we were put on a bus again to take is to the port. We finally got to our cabin after 4:00. Long day with no lunch so had a very early dinner. Bags were in our cabin after dinner so we unpacked and the off to bed.

Ship did not leave port til after 8. 3 hours later. So captain kicked into gear. Have had very rocky waters. Great for sleeping.
