The last Chapter.
After a couple of days in La Rioja, checking out the restaurants and the pretty girls, we saddled up and headed south to the Valle Fertil, checking out the Parque Ishigualasto (Valley de La Luna) on the way.
The run down to Uspallata, via Termas de Villavicencio, was as spectacular as ever, with stunning views as we climbed up the mountain, but we had to fight with Patagonia type winds most of the way to Las Heras.
Leaving Uspillata at 8.30am, we made for our last border crossing, back into Chile, via the Paso Cristo Redentor, with stunning views of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Andes. This was the coldest ride of the adventure, dropping to - 1 deg.
Team Kawasaki and one Kit, on his BMW, took the old high way up the mountain, instead of the 3 km tunnel, again another stunning ride.
We exited from Argentina and entered Chile with no dramas , so we made the ru to Vina del Mar, stopping for lunch at a large Copec gas station, but Team Kawasaki, were not followed in by Team BMW, it turns out that Kit’s 650 Dakar, just died and with all the
Tyred Dog
This is the same tyred dog that was here last year encouragement and will power, just would not start, so they eventually arrived with it securely on the back of the truck for the final ride into Vina del Mar and onto the shipping depot, to ship back to NZ.
With the farewell dinner, and the moto’s packed into the container, I think the High Andes Adventure for 2010, could be over……..but you just never know with adventure……

I have just loved 'being there' with you guys as always. The shaking at the start freaked me out a bit but you are all safe and well and happy by the feel of the last chapter. Love to you. Corrine
