La Serena beach - Playa de La Serena

Andy and I decided to head to the lovely beach of La Serena for the day. We set off the lengthy walk from home.... we were offered a lift by tata, but we wanted to walk as Machu Picchu practice.

So we packed provisions... water, lots of sunblock, sandwiches, parasol etc etc. It took about an hour to get to the first bit of the beach (“El Faro” - The Lighthouse), but we wanted to get to a particular point which took a further 45 minutes or so, on the way there we had a lunch break and watched a bit of a game of water football... we were very tired and a bit burnt already by the time we got to our beach spot.

After spending a good 5 hours at the beach (thank God we brought the parasol!) we went to have a drink on a beachside bar, then finished the day off by going to a sushi restaurant that's in the newly rebuilt Coquimbo hotel/casino, which is also along the beach.

ESPAÑOL

Andy y yo decidimos ir a la preciosa playa de La Serena por el día. Empezamos la larga caminata desde la casa... mi tata nos ofreció llevarnos pero queríamos practicar para Machu Picchu.

Empacamos provisiones... agua, harto bloqueador, sandwiches, quitasol etc etc. Nos tomó como 1 hora llegar al Faro, pero queríamos llegar más allá de 4 esquinas, lo que nos tomó como otros 45 minutos, en el camino aprovechamos de almorzar y miramos un juego de football de agua... estábamos super cansados y un poco quemados cuando llegamos a nuestro pedacitode playa.

Después de estar en la playa unas 5 horas (¡gracias a Dios que trajimos quitasol!) fuimos a tomarnos un traguito en un bar en la playa y después terminamos el día yendo a un restaurant de sushi que esta en el casino de Coquimbo.
